Williams Lake is located in the centre of the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional District in interior B.C., surrounded by trail-laced hillsides. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy activities such as whitewater rafting, mountain biking, hiking, golfing, and skiing, among other activities. The Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex also offers a variety of recreational activities for individuals of all ages, including concerts, daycamps, swimming, skating, martial arts, dance classes, cooking classes, and much more. Aside from staying active, residents can also enjoy some fine dining at local restaurants and shopping at local malls.
Williams Lake will provide visitors and residents with a “True North West” experience with their renowned Williams Lake Stampede, held annually during the Canada Day long weekend. Audiences will enjoy performances by the best cowboys of the North West, and can participate in activities such as bull-riding, bareback and saddle bronco riding, and ladies barrel racing.
You can also visit the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin for a walk through the north west history. The museum also offers a Hall of Fame with biographies and photographs for honourable cowboys of the past and present.
